According to the WhaleStats platform, one of the largest investors in the Ethereum chain, known as “Gimli”, has stunned the crypto community by grabbing three massive amounts of Shiba Inu, approximately 750 billion tokens.

The owner of the “Gimli” wallet has purchased three large SHIB lumps of 250,000,000,001, 249,998,999,999 and 250,000,999,999 Shiba Inu. In total, these purchases of whales cost him $8.4 million.

At the moment, SHIB is the largest token by US dollar value in Whale’s portfolio as it holds $4,312,591 worth of SHIB, having already sold half of the meme tokens it has acquired.
The Shiba Inu now accounts for 19.6 percent of his portfolio, with Link sitting right next to him.

Number of SHIB holders increased
Earlier this week, U.Today covered that the number of wallets that hold a Shiba Inu has now increased to 1,191,766.
While the increase in holder numbers will hardly have any effect on the price of the token, it still reflects a growing long-term interest in the Mem coin as its community continues to expand.
At press-time, the Shiba Inu is trading at $0.00001131, according to data provided by CoinMarketCap.
