Last week, the Italian fast-food restaurant revealed that its Discord channel had suffered a security breach, in which bots posted malicious links for nearly half an hour to redirect users to a bogus mining website.
Per the announcement, scammers were only able to steal 10 ETH ($17,573) worth of non-fungible tokens, Metaverse land, and other assets.
Most of the stolen assets have been returned, and it is working with OpenSea, the largest NFT marketplace, to further reduce the loss.
Veli says the damage is minimized due to the quick response of the Metaverse’s Defense and Development Districts.
The above departments are now working on a thorough audit to find out how the attack took place.
