The University of So Paulo (USP) signed a collaboration agreement with Radio Caca (RACA) to study various educational applications within the Mars Metaverse of the United States by operating various virtual lands inside the Metaverse.
As per the official information shared by the University of So Paulo; Its team will evaluate the technical, economic and legal aspects of the metaverse, while developing a research program to understand its inner workings and limitations.
In this way, the University of So Paulo became the first Latin American university to enter a metaverse hand in hand with Radio Caca and other international universities. However, beyond academia, other major institutions are experimenting with opening offices in the metaverse.
USM will have its own land in the USM Metaverse
One of the most interesting points is that the University of So Paulo will have its own “virtual land” where it will build a headquarters so that its staff and students can interact with each other “in a virtual, augmented or mixed reality environment”.
In other words, any student will be able to enjoy the immersive experience offered by Metaverse Interactions. This could fundamentally change how students enjoy their academic lives and opens up debate over the possibility of a fully functional university running only in the metaverse.
The project itself is very ambitious: in addition to the Unites States of Mars, it relies on the support of the University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI), sponsored by Ripple, one of the most relevant companies in the crypto industry.
This experiment could potentially be helpful for various research areas such as 3D modeling, VR, AR, distance learning and psychology studies, just to name a few.
Radio Kaka wants to create an open metaverse for universities
Radio Kaka CEO Jeff Watney said the platform aims to be able to “build an open metaverse focused on user freedom” for universities and content creators. He said it was a great honor for him to be able to create “new experiences that unleash the full potential of Web3” with the University of So Paulo.
USP at RACA, Latin America’s largest public university, it is our great honor to be inside the USM Metaverse. Together we will create new experiences that can unlock the full potential of Web3 for people. It is our goal, to create an open metaverse focused on user freedom.
USP Professor Marcos A. Simplicio Jr. said this is the first time the university has received or handled non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The NFT United States in question is the virtual land in the Mars 3D metaverse.
Radio Kaka has a large community and the backing of well-known companies such as OKEx Blockdream Ventures, ConsenSys Mesh’s Tachyon Accelerator, as well as its new partner Ripple Labs Inc., so this new metaverse itself can be very beneficial for students and professors if It is adopted among large universities around the world.
