According to reports, the Dubai government is preparing to make a part of its offices available in the metaverse. According to a statement made by CyberGear’s Chief Metaverse Officer Sharad Agarwal at a Metaverse event, the country is currently looking for third parties to help convert some of its departments into virtual worlds.
Dubai is reportedly moving government functions to the metaverse
Dubai, an emirate that is part of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), is reportedly moving some of its government departments to the metaverse, to allow users to take action in these features in the future. This will be the next step for the country, which has previously presented its Dubai Metaverse strategy to position this technology as an important part of the emirate’s future.
Sharad Agarwal, chief Metaverse officer at CyberGear, a Dubai-based Metaverse company, spoke about the process at a local Metaverse-themed event. He said:
We have started getting a lot of inquiries from government departments and ministries to make them metaverse-enabled. It is only a matter of time before Dubai becomes the world’s crypto and metaverse hub.
However, the creation of these areas and the establishment of their functions will take time. Agarwal further explained, “There is hard work involved, so you need to decide what services you want to offer and the business model and then the onboard community, like the community that exists in the physical world.”
Countries betting on the metaverse and application
Dubai has been one of the countries that has made a global plan to make Metaverse a profitable industry in the future. The Dubai Metaverse Strategy, a set of directives that aims to make the Metaverse contribution to 1% of the country’s GDP for 2030, aims to provide 42,000 virtual jobs by the same year. Other countries, such as South Korea, are also investing heavily in developing their own metaverse industry, allocating $177 million to the effort.
While some fail to see the allure of Metaverse for Dubai, Agarwal highlights one of the applications that Metaverse Tech may have in the future: the real estate market. he declared:
There is a huge market for real estate in Dubai. In the future, people will be able to fly to a community like Superman, visit and visit the villa, and configure the interior decorations to their liking. Once they are satisfied, they can pay digitally.
The country’s virtual asset regulator recently established its operations in Metaverse, a leader in this space.
